Will Do...

Will Cleek

I’m at my family reunion this weekend,

and it amazes me how different the individual sides of the family can be from each other. We have everything from the highly conservative baptists who live in the middle of OK to the extremely liberal, loaded Californians who are deathly afraid of the millions of bugs that surround them. This is definitely the most unlikely combination of people ever. Luckily everyone is able to laugh at each other. I had a lot of fun today giving my 11 yr old 2nd-cousins the following lessons: that touching a fish was not going to give them a disease; that cicadas are not going to jump out and eat them despite the noise that they make; that when we say storms here in the Midwest, we aren’t talking about a little light rain as we experienced a fairly strong thunderstorm. I’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment watching the two sides interact; however, it is a very good thing that thus far the conversation has steered clear of politics.
